The title of this book sums it up perfectly. Alison has created a dynamic eye-catching picture book about all the amazing mums out there.
For those of you who have followed my blog over the years, you’ll know that I absolutely rave about How to Spot a Mum by Donna Amey Bhatt and Aura Lewis. This non-fiction book for children aged 5+ celebrates at all the different kinds of mums. And now, Alison Brown has created a perfect companion for picture book age children!
Amazing Mum is an amazing picture book. It has very few words, but the ones it has hit the spot. We get to see all the different kinds of mums out there from snuggly-mums to never-let-you-down-mums. It’s a wonderful book to share with children for Mother’s Day and all year round.

Mums Are Magnificent by Simon Philip and Dawn Lo
Through a fun rhyming adventure, Simon and Dawn champion the diversity of mums. They can play let’s pretend… and be your best friend. They can be pilots of planes… or drivers of trains.
This beautifully illustrated picture book celebrates the uniqueness of mums. But rather than focus on different parenting styles, it showcases a mum’s full identity through their career choices. This gives the book a bit more of a grown-up feel that would be very inspiring for young children.
This stunning picture book reminds children that not only do their mum’s love them unconditionally, they have hobbies and other interests too. Mums Are Magnificent is a fantastic book for Mother’s Day 2022.

10 Things I Love About You by Danielle McLean and Grace Habib
This gorgeous board book with textured surfaces on every page would make a lovely gift for a new mum and baby.
The rhyming text is joyful and little ones will love exploring the colourful scenes on each page.
It reminded me of one of our favourite books, Guess How Much I Love You. A fabulous and inclusive board book to share for Mother’s Day 2022.

I Really, Really Love You So by Karl Newson and Duncan Beedie
Finally I wanted to share this hilarious sequel to I Really, Really Need a Wee. This book doesn’t identify a mum explicitly, and I think this allows it to represent a much wider variety of family structures this Mother’s Day.
