Today, I am showcasing two board books that are SO popular with my daughters that not only do they read them every day, but they recreate scenes from the books to make up their own stories.

Let’s Pretend Fire Station by Nicola Edwards and Thomas Elliott
This gorgeous little board book is part of the My World series which combines bright illustrations with real-life photos. Each page has intricate cut outs, my daughter loved the fire ladder.

We built our own lego fire station and used the book as a “firefighter’s handbook”, checking all the equipment was there and talking about what firefighters do. This is a really nice first book on fire stations – my daughter LOVES it!

Beep Beep! Builders by Becky Davies and Gareth Lucas
This bright, rhyming, interactive story is our favourite truck-themed board book. There are five vehicle buttons for you to press as you go through the story. Each one makes a different and very realistic(!) sound.
This busy noisy building site is run by Little B.
“What shall we build today?” he asks. His team says, “Wait and see!”

My daughter is obsessed with this book – it is one of her absolute favourites. It’s the perfect sized book for toddlers and the buttons are a soft squidgy material, perfect for wiping clean after being used by sticky little fingers! We’ve been using it non-stop since we got it three months ago and the battery hasn’t run out (there’s an on-off switch on the back too). Beep Beep! Builders is a book children will come back to time and time again.

I am very grateful to the publisher for providing me with a complimentary copies of these books. This voluntary review contains my honest opinion.
These look so appealing, I’m going to pass the details on to my friend for her little granddaughter. Thank you.
